Halloween Weekend!

What a crazy fun filled weekend! The kids had thought about their costumes for months and after changing their minds a few times, they decided what they wanted to be! Chloe chose to be a ballerina and I must admit -- I had a lot of fun making this cute little tutu for her (with my mom's help at the last minute to help finish it!!). She just looked adorable. I think I'll make a couple more tiny tutus for newborn photo shoots.

So Hayley wanted to be a very scary witch and she insisted on a green face like the witch in the Wizard of Oz. She also said that her hair had to be sprayed black - a wig would not do. She really got into character when the camera came out. And since we had a small witch's costume, she requested that Kate dress up as a witch as well (and no, I didn't notice that they were riding the broom backwards. Oh well!)

Lastly, Blake wanted to be Darth Maul from Star Wars. All I knew is that it would take a lot of time to face paint, and I've never watched a full Star Wars movie to really know who Darth Maul is, so luckily Brent came home early to help out. He is much more artistic than I am and WOW he did such a great job. Blake kept running to the mirror and couldn't believe how scary he looked. And boy did he get a lot of great comments on his costume. All of the little boys in the neighborhood would see him and yell "Look! It's Darth Maul." He thought he was pretty neat.

We got everyone ready (finally) and ran off to the ward Trunk or Treat. So fun to see all the kids dressed up cute as could be!

After Trunk or Treat we ran to my sister's house for dinner and a little trick or treating in her neighborhood. And then we ran off to Marcee & Lance's to see the Foster side of the family. Her sister had arranged the cutest Fear Factor game. The kids had to eat "dog food", grab eyeballs out of a bowl of blood with their teeth, and their favorite - sticking their hand in a box to grab out dollar bills and coins while live crickets were inside hopping around. And here's a pic of Hayley with her Grandma witch!
Once I get a little more time, I'll have to blog about having the police and fire department come out last week to rescue my 2 youngest kids. I locked them inside the car, along with my keys, while the car was running. Guess I'm not getting Mother of Year Award this year. . .

I'm loving the costume photo session! What a great idea, especially when you have a studio in your house! Impressive.

Please fill me in on the kids in the car scenario. I've done that pretty recent too! Sad to say.

OK, do you think I could have Brent do my make up for my 25 year reunion? He's GOOD! Love the poses and the witch attitude.
