Chloe's Preschool

Little Miss Chloe finished preschool today and looked so cute!

Mrs. Farnsworth is her teacher and she seriously has a gift with children. She not only has the patience of a saint, but has a way of making each child feel so special. She nicknamed Chloe her little helper this year and Chloe enjoyed living up to the title!

Chloe got to be the calendar counter and did a fabulous job counting to 27!
Her other part was to say "Every week has seven days. Can you name them?" Love how comfortable she is saying her part to the class!

So fun that she got to have her cousin Carson in her class this year!

Gymnastics Recital

Hayley finished another year of gymnastics loving the sport even more. It amazes me how much stronger she becomes each year!

One of her favorite parts of gymnastics is getting to see Sierra every week!

Grandma and Grandpa Lamoreaux came to see her perform. (And the little one in the background is begging to start 'nastics' soon too!)

Happy Mothers Day!

I had such a wonderful mother's day. Got spoiled by Brent and the kids. Woke up to breakfast in bed not just on mother's day, but on Saturday too (which by the way, I got to sleep in . . . until 9. Can't remember the last time I did that! Maybe they were just bringing me breakfast to wake me up. But either way, it was a treat and a great way to start the weekend!) Loved getting cards and booklets and homemade gifts from the kids that they'd spent days creating. Enjoyed my shopping spree from Brent. Relaxed while not having to cook or do dishes for the entire day. But most of all, just appreciated being a mother to the best 4 kids in the world.
We finished off the day by going to my in-laws for dinner. Love that all the Foster boys put on the entire meal and it was de-lish! Pulled pork, amazing mashed potatoes made by Brent, cooked carrots, foccacia bread and salad. And then . . . one of my favorite desserts -not just one, but 3 angel food cakes with whipped cream and strawberries and even chocolate dipped strawberries.

The best mother-in-law in the world, Janet! Nothing brings her more happiness in life than her family. Can't even tell you how grateful I am for her and all she does for our family.

Lucinda (pregnant for the first time!) and Marcee - mother of 5!

Natasia - 3 kids and one on the way! Can't wait!

Jody - mother of 3 + 1 that's a foster child. (A real foster child, not just a child of the Foster clan :)

Chloe was a little excited over the size of these strawberries. Her favorite!

So grateful that Brent has made it possible for me to be a mom. He is such a great dad to our kids and such a great help to me. Sure do love him.

And then we finished off the Mother's Day weekend celebration by taking my mom and dad out to Charlestons for dinner on Monday with Marci & Joe. Perfect weekend.

Bye bye baby

I finally had my first free Saturday in MONTHS and guess what I was actually excited to do? Clean and organize. I just haven't had the time to go through cabinets, drawers and closets lately and I actually got a little giddy getting to do so!

I packed up over 5 trash bags of little boy and girls clothing to take to DI. Baby clothes that I know we will never need again. I threw out all sippie cups and bottles since Kate insists on only drinking out of big girl cups and glasses. There are no more diapers or wipes in the house. No more baby food or baby toys.

It's crazy because it seems like just a few short moments ago I was preparing for our first baby to arrive in our house. We'd waited years for her to come. We bought all of the baby necessities. The clothing and diapers. The swing and the exersaucer. The crib and the sheets. We were so ready to begin our family.

I can't believe now that 9 years later (9 years that seemed to fly by somehow), it's all over.

The baby stage is gone.

And I'm kind of torn.

In one way, I'm excited to move on. I enjoy my 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep each night. I love being able to sit through a movie with all of the kids. Our vacations are getting more enjoyable as we're not tied down to a nap schedule anymore. We can finally go swimming this year without my 2 year old having to wear a swim diaper! There are quite a few perks.

But I'm also sad knowing that I'll never be pregnant again and feel a baby kicking inside. I won't get to have my newborn baby fall asleep on my chest. I won't be able to see the milk spill out the side of their mouth when they grin as they're eating.

Seriously, how did this time go by so quickly? Those sleepless nights that I thought would never end are now gone. The cute chubby little baby thighs have now slimmed down. The years and years of diaper changings have ceased. There aren't very many traces of babyhood left around my house now. So I sure hope I've documented enough of my days with my little ones. Because I don't want to forget a moment of it.

Goodbye baby stage. It was fun while it lasted!

Chloe's Dreams

"Mom!
When I grow up,
and I have ten kids,
I'm going to go to the mall everyday.
And I'm never going to work.
And we're going to ride the escalator up and down all day.
. . . And then I'm going to South Africa."
