It's just not a trip to California, unless we're able to squeeze in a day at Disneyland while we're there! The kids were so excited to have Grandma & Papa Dad join us for the big day.
They swore they wouldn't be riding any big rides, but . . . Hayley is a good persuader as you can see in just a bit.
When we were going to the park, I asked which character the girls would like to see the most. They all agreed "Mary Poppins!" You can imagine their excitement then as we walked into the park and there she was . . .
and she invited them to dance with her!
Seriously magical. I love this place. And dreams do come true.
It's a good thing the little ones got to do that because once it was over, we were off to the big rides.
And since Marco hooked us up with a free wheel chair, we were able to avoid the lines by going to the front. And the kids always had a lap to sit on!One place we always have to hit while we're there is the ice cream shoppe at California Adventure. Best hot fudge mint sundaes EVER!
Both Kate & Chloe were tall enough to ride Space Mountain this year! Woo hoo! Here's Chloe looking a little sick, but she was a trooper!
Our favorite ride hands down is Screamin. We could ride that one over and over again!
And remember how the grandparents swore they'd NOT be riding anything too fast or scary? Well here they are on Screamin. Hayley has them wrapped around her little finger :) She and Blake have the sweetest memories of them riding EVERY ride they asked them to. Love this picture because Papa Dad is closing his eyes (and Hayley said squeezing her knee very tight) and Grandma is just trying to hold on to her hat! It's so fun as the kids get older and we're all able to do the same rides. All 8 of us rode Soarin Over California together. Kate and Chloe also rode the Tower of Terror this year! The only thing they weren't tall enough for was Indiana Jones and Screamin. I felt a little badly that we didn't have time to do the typical little kids rides (Dumbo, Alice, Toon Town . . . although we did hit Peter Pan), but there was just no time if we were going to hit the big rides. Sadly our days of the little rides are probably over.
Perfect day at the happiest place on earth!
